Colin Bell is the Chief Executive Officer of HSBC Bank plc and HSBC Europe and Executive Director of HSBC Bank plc. He is also a Non-Executive Director of Quantexa Ltd. He has deep experience in leadership, risk management and financial crime prevention having served as the Group Chief Compliance Officer and Group Head of Financial Crime Risk at HSBC Group and Head of Compliance and Operational Risk Control at UBS. Prior to that, Colin spent 16 years in the British Army and held a variety of command and staff appointments, including operational tours of Iraq and Northern Ireland. He also held appointments in the UK Ministry of Defence and NATO.

Colin holds a Master of Arts in Defence Studies from King’s College London, Master of Science in Defence Technology from Cranfield University and a Bachelor of Science in Applied Physics and Electronics from Durham University. He also has a Post-Graduate Diploma in Cyber Defence and Information Assurance at Cranfield University. Colin is a Chartered Engineer and Member of the Institute of Engineering and Technology, UK.
