David is a Partner at Serendipity Capital and leads fundraising, client engagement, and capital formation initiatives. David is a seasoned strategist and investor with deep experience across global finance, government, and technology.

David previously served as the founding CEO of InvestAlberta, where he spearheaded the province’s international investment strategy, and as Principal Advisor to the Premier’s Office in Alberta. He has also held senior roles in strategy and business development at Commonwealth Bank, and continues to serve as Chair of Elements Advisors and Senior Board Advisor to Invest Alberta.

Throughout his career, David has advised governments and companies across the energy, financial services, and technology sectors, bridging the worlds of policy and investment. His rare combination of insights from both public and private spheres will add significant value to Serendipity Capital’s ecosystem as the firm advances its mission to back critical technologies such as quantum computing, semiconductors, cybersecurity, and AI.

David holds a Ph.D from Yale University, a Master’s in Law from University of Oxford and a Masters of Public Administration from Queen’s University, and a Bachelors of Arts from the University of Lethbridge, reading Philosophy, Politics and Sociology.
