Our team

Rob is the Chief Executive Officer and Founding Partner of Serendipity Capital, which he established in late 2019. Serendipity Capital invests in companies that enhance and secure the critical technologies and infrastructure of tomorrow. It is focused on disruptive thematics including AI and ML, climate and sustainability, quantum technologies and security. Rob is also the Chief Investment Officer and is responsible for recommending investment decisions to the investment committee. Rob is a non-executive director of our portfolio companies, Deep Labs and Pollination, and was previously on the Board of Cambridge Quantum Computing (which merged with Honeywell Quantum systems to form Quantinuum).

Before founding Serendipity, Rob spent over 28 years operating and investing in the financial services and technology industries. From 2011 to 2018, he was a member of the Executive Committee of Commonwealth Bank of Australia, becoming its Chief Financial Officer. Prior to that, he was a senior investment banker covering global financial institutions at Credit Suisse. He also held investing roles at Barclays PLC and JP Morgan. He has run businesses across all segments of financial services. He served as a Non-Executive Director of ASB Bank, PT Bank Commonwealth and Tyme Bank.

Rob holds a Bachelor of Science from Aston University, from which he also received an honorary doctorate in 2022. He is also a Visiting Professor at Aston University.
